We really enjoyed both our stay and our tour with Cheeky Monkeys, we received a warm welcome and the place has a great family feel, everyone is really friendly and helpful and Ellie’s food is always amazing! They also have some very sweet dogs which is always a bonus We did a 2 day/ 1 night with Felix, Sarol and our jungle chef Amjar - we were really well looked after the whole time, lots of jungle facts along the way and we ate a lot of great food! We were really lucky to see lots of wildlife, including an alpha male orangutan which Felix spotted way in the distance, he has great jungle senses! We also had a great time being serenaded with the jungle trek song on the jungle taxi down the river Hopefully one day we can come back and explore more! The rooms were great and everyone was lovely and so so welcoming. They were also super helpful with booking our onward travel and giving recommendations. We also did the 2d1n tour which was amazing, can’t recommend enough. We saw loads of wildlife including orangutan, hornbills, and all the different monkeys. Big shout out to our guides Felix and Sarol which were great and make a big effort to find the wildlife and make it a great experience. Great value. When I was there, they had trouble with water quite frequently but they did their best to accommodate me. Room was clean with mosquito net and hard local bed. Beautiful luxurious gardens. The barista makes awesome local coffee customised to your needs! The staff are very kind and chatty, but to be honest sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming if you're feeling introverted. If you're chatty too, it's fantastic and they'll make you part of the family. Note - the location is in the next village, not Bukit Lawang itself, which makes it extremely peaceful and serene. Das Cheeky Monkeys ist eine der besten Unterkünfte, die wir auf unseren vielen Reisen weltweit kennenlernen durften. Es liegt etwas außerhalb des Stadtzentrums, die Lage ist sehr ruhig, kein Lärm. Après 5 mois de voyage en Asie, cette expérience était l’une des meilleures !! La nourriture, notre guide, la jungle,le confort des camps et surtout le côté éthique, tout était vraiment incroyable. Le guide parle un excellent anglais et est très patient. Merci à lui. Merci également au staff de cheeky monkeys. Plus particulièrement à Yoris, Andre, Sarah et Eli qui ont rendu notre séjour excellent avec des sourires et une joie de vivre constante, des délicieux cafés et repas et surtout de la très bonne musique le soir. Si je n’avais pas un avion à prendre je serai restée plus longtemps. Logement très propre et très bien équipé. Had the most incredible 3 night stay at Cheeky Monkeys. Prior to arriving communication was amazing and from the moment being collected at the airport everyone was extremely friendly. The room had everything we needed and the surrounding are absolutely beautiful. The staff do everything to help and made our stay truely unforgettable - big thank you to Ellie (and team) for the amazing food, Ellie and Adi for such a great cooking class and Chan for our jungle painting class he was extremely patient (with two not very artistic people) and helped us create a piece which is truly beautiful. In the evening the villa has such a beautiful atmosphere with acoustic music. The most notable thing is how it feels like one big community from the moment you arrive. We are very happy with the experience of hiking for 3 days and 2 nights. Our guides Sarul and Rian were great at explaining all the flaura and fauna and were very accommodating and fun. We really enjoyed the experience and all the monkeys and apes. Definitely recommend :)
